Nightmares are a common occurrence, especially for those who have experienced trauma, and I have been engaged in researching effective ways of treating and stopping nightmares since 2013, culminating in the completion of my PhD in 2019 at the Veterans and Families Institute of the Anglia Ruskin University. This work has also featured in several media appearances on radio and television.
I have now completed a 5-minute animated video that will teach this technique to all for free. Please share it far and wide – it can be used as a self-help technique or as a resource within therapy sessions. I typically teach it on the first session with any clients experiencing nightmares or sleep disturbance.
